“Many communities are realizing the value of projects that connect the young and the old. Older people are often wiser and less stressed than the rest of us and they have time and patience.” - Mary Pipher

What does it mean to be an intergenerational program?

At All Seasons Preschool your children will have special opportunities to learn about themselves and the world around them through experiences tailored to their age and development. In addition, All Seasons provides regular interaction with the residents of Inver Glen Senior Living. Children and adults will participate in a variety of activities, which may include:

  • Reading
  • Music
  • Cooking
  • Games
  • Art
  • Outdoor play
  • Gardening
  • Exercise

Children and adults will have time to get to know each other and form bonds through meaningful activities together.

What does it mean to have a nature-based curriculum?

Our nature-based program provides an ideal framework for the generations to develop and build relationships. Here at All Seasons we’ll enjoy daily activities in the fields outside our doors or in our classrooms, in large groups and small ones. Our wide-ranging nature activities may come from the lesson plan of a teacher or the imagination of a child. As it has for generations, sharing nature helps bring young and old together.

What does it mean to have an art-centered program?

Children will have regular opportunities to explore and express their imaginative ideas through art. In our art studio, large and small groups will investigate a variety of art materials and processes, from clay to tempera paints to papier-mâché. A studio director will facilitate children's work and play, as well as coordinate joint activities with the Inver Glen residents.
